Banker Lopez Gassler P.A. Supports National Red Cross Month
March 7, 2012Red Cross Month is a time to remind everyone of the work the American Red Cross does in communities all across the country and around the globe. The American Red Cross was created in 1881 by Clara Barton and officially chartered by Congress in 1900 to provide national and international relief to the military and serve as a means of communication between members of the Armed Forces and their families. In 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed the first Red Cross Month in an effort to raise funds to respond to the needs brought on by World War II. Since then, every president has designated March as Red Cross Month.
Red Cross is comprised of local branches that are a part of the national Red Cross organization. Most of us don’t know that each branch is responsible for raising funds for their own local needs and do not receive funds from the parent branch or the US government. The branches rely on people in their community to donate their time and resources to help with disasters affecting our neighbors every day.
Banker Lopez Gassler P.A. has made a commitment to help the Red Cross branches surrounding our offices throughout Florida during March 2012. We will be collecting donations and supplies from team members in each office and the firm will be matching 100% of all employee donated funds.
