We have spoken with Allen’s family and they have decided to uphold Allen’s wishes by choosing not to have a funeral mass or memorial. Allen wanted everyone to remember him in their own way and to be the good they see in the world. His ashes will be released into the gulf at a later date.
To honor Allen’s memory, the Allen von Spiegelfeld Brain Tumor Research Fund has been set up with the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
If anyone would like to contribute, checks should be made payable to the “Tisch Brain Tumor Center” and sent to Tisch Brain Tumor Center, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710. All funds generated will go towards research for glioblastoma.
